A Holistic, Nature-Based Approach to Attention, Regulation and Wellbeing

ADHD has become one of the most discussed and diagnosed conditions of our time. For many individuals and families, medication provides a level of effective support. However, it often comes with side effects, unanswered questions, and a lingering sense that something deeper may also need to be addressed.

Parents especially are searching for sustainable, healthy ways to support their children – not only to manage symptoms, but to nurture focus, resilience, emotional balance and long-term wellbeing. This workshop offers a broader, more complete lens.

In this 2-hour session, Dr Rafeena will explore ADHD through the framework of classical Ayurvedic psychology, examining the relationship between the nervous system, sensory input, behaviour, digestion, lifestyle rhythm and mental clarity.

2. The role of the senses and how “input management” influences attention

3. Ayurvedic psychology and the concept of sattva, rajas and tamas in the mind

4. Why routine, rhythm and connection to nature help stabilise attention

5. The impact of diet using a simple sattvic, nervous-system supportive approach

Following the presentation, Sami will guide a 30-minute Hatha yoga practice designed for nervous system regulation and focus, including grounding asana, rhythmic pranayama, and meditation to cultivate sustained attention and steadiness.
